Gagging and throwing up...because of teething??

DS (8 months) has been having a hell of a week, teething-wise. He got three new ones in the last week, with a couple more on the way. He's had a fever on and off since Friday but has mostly been fine and acting normal, and seemed like it was just teething related. Since yesterday he has been gagging a lot. Last night this included throwing up many times. He was also pooing a lot, and with a high fever, so I was concerned he had a virus or something. Well, he slept well last night and by this morning he seemed fine.  But the gagging kept happening, only without throw up. Well, it's evening and he just gagged and threw up all.over.me. I am calling the pediatrician in the morning, because this doesn't really strike me as a normal part of teething. But I just figured I'd throw it out there: have any of you experienced this? Could it be part of intense teething? Is he gagging on his own drool (although he hasn't been drooling really at all lately)?

Thanks for helping, I'm kind of worried and until I can reach the pediatrician tomorrow I just have to keep wondering....

Nah, I'd put my money on a bug. greensad.gif Hope your little man feels better soon!

Ditto, sounds like a bug to me, too. Poor Max! Hope he's well soon. You can still come by on Thursday. We don't have carpeting. biggrinbounce.gif

Is he gagging apparently on nothing? Cece is in a "what happens if I stick my fingers down my throat?" phase right now, and gags constantly because of it.

Lol! No, Max is just gagging for no apparent reason. It didn't happen again this evening, so he just threw up once today, but I would say gagged about four or five times throughout the day. I thought it was a bug too, but he seemed mostly fine today besides the gagging. We'll see what the ped says.

And Terri, unless he seems sick on Thurs we'll still come by. smile.gif

Yeah, you'd think she would have learned by now what happens...rolleyes.gif Of course, I should start considering the possibility that she likes gagging. Is it too young to label my daughter bulimic? lol.gif

Haha...a friend of mine has a DD, now 3 y.o., who's always been and still is very oral. Consequently she does gag quite a bit, also on food...my friend used to say her DD has a choking fetish!

My dd would sometimes gag on mucus from post nasal drainage or something like that but not on nothing.  I'm guessing it was a bug too.  I hope he feels better soon.

So we had a throw up and scream episode in the middle of the night last night, and he was up a few times in obvious discomfort, crying greensad.gif
Ped (who is primarily a homeopath) said he should take his personal homeopathic remedy today, and if he doesn't seem better by tomorrow we bring him in. Apparently there is some stomach bug going around these parts right now.
And so far today he's fine, in a great mood even. But he was yesterday too, until the evening. I guess some viruses are on and off. We'll see....
