Felting wool clothing (not sweaters)?

Does it work to felt wool clothing like blazers, pants, skirts, etc., that aren't knit like sweaters?

If so, what kinds of crafts/sewing can you do with it? How is it different than felted sweaters?

I am asking because my sister is about the get rid of a pile of wool clothing (she is moving to FL) and I am trying to decide whether or not to take anything that isn't a sweater.

Last Christmas I found a great pair of wool pants at a thrift store. Brought the home, felted them and made a great stuffed bunny. I worked out awesome and really softened the pants.
