Absolutely. Like the other ladies mentioned, it does change the texture, making it more firm and receptive to holding a marinade. Easier to slice also.
I throw the whole package in the freezer. When you need it, place in microwave for 7 minutes. If you don't use a microwave, remove from package
after purchase and place in freezer bag or wrap in plastic. When needed, unwrap and place in pot of boiling water. Remove from heat. Either way, squeeze
gently before using.
One of my favorite snacks is made from the tofu at this point. Cut into small cubes and saute in olive oil, tamari and garlic powder. Allow to brown a bit before
turning. That's it! Great high protein snack or salad topping.
