Hello everyone! Name is Jadzia and I'm hoping I finally found an active community. I'm 23 years old, married and trying for my first "nerdling." I'm a geek/nerd who enjoys video games, a great horror movie, and a quiet night at home with the hubby and an episode of X Files or Star Trek. We've been married for 1.5 years, together for 2.5 and we've been trying for about a year now. Just recently I started going to the right doctors to diagnose why we're having trouble getting pregnant. My doctor discovered on my first visit that I have cysts on both ovaries, and on the second visit found that they were huge ones but I didn't have PCOS. All of my labs were completely normal and I didn't have the "string of pearls" that indicates PCOS in most cases. My insulin levels were slightly elevated so he prescribed me Metformin. I go back in 4 weeks to see if the cysts have dissolved on their own or it I need surgery. But, he said that once the cysts are gone I should ovulate normally. So...here's to hoping.

We're thrilled at the prospect of becoming parents and have talked about it constantly. We both agree that we would like to try cloth diapering and I want to breastfeed as long as possible. If I have to formula feed then I'm not going to cry over spilled milk...(Ha! See what I did there?). As for our parenting styles? I don't think we'll know that until we actually have a baby. I have a 4 year old nephew who I've taken care of since a newborn and I know how I "parent" him but I doubt it'll be the same with my own child. If that makes sense...
