WWYD Mamas, need help!

OMG! More approproate title would be "MY BABY HAS HAD A LOT OF CRUMMY STUFF GOING ON AND SO HAVE I"

Ok, now that I got that off my chest.

DD has been tongue tied. Found out last mth at her pediatrician when we realized she had only gained 2 lbs since birth duh.gif

She is 7 mths old.

Well when we got tongue tie clipped, she didn't do any better getting milk out. Instead almost seemed to care less to nurse. I started supplementing about 4 weeks ago and she has gained another 2 lbs. I also started trying to bump my supply with galactagogues, pumping, stimulating nipples, etc.

She seems to have a huge sensitivity to the formula. We have tried all different kinds and seems to have even developed a really nasty cough since. (Sounds like reflux) Among other formula problems. We are still nursing but it is really hard to get her not to bite me or begin to cry at my breast (ouch, not so hot for the mama self -esteem)

We attend LLLmeetings, we have seen a consultant, and nothing has helped us. About the only thing I haven't done is get an SNS.

Ok, and then to throw another wrench in the story, I have had really bad postpartum depression. So I am trying to take care of me emotionally and her too. But it is not working so well.

My reason for mentioning that is because I have really tried a lot of things with nursing (as mentioned for months she was hungry, biting me, crying a lot, and I didn't know why)

I have tried pumping all day, and somewhat tried nursing all day (she does not like this)

What would you do? I have very little support from our pediatrician and my DH ( I think he is fed up with the PPD and other postpartum issues)

I would look on the Eats on Feets chapter on Facebook for your area, join milkshare.com, look at the local tribes section of this site, and get donated milk. I push for it all the time because of how successful donated milk has been for my family.  My supply is low and always has been, and my daughter has been on donated milk all her life (she is 10 months old). Whether you stick with formula or get donated milk, I urge you to start using at-breast supplementors like the SNS or Lact-Aid. Your supply will stay stimulated that way, and you will also discourage any bottle preference over breast.

Secondly, please do NOT beat yourself up over this!! If it turns out that all of your efforts to get her to nurse again fail, then so be it! It won't change how much you love your daughter or what you're willing to do for her.

I would also find a more supportive pediatrician.
