box springs, bed mid rail supports

Hi Mommas,

I have two questions,   the first is have you moved a box spring by tying it on top of a van,  or would you pony up the money for renting a box truck (which could be used for a goodwill run as well)  and the second is  if the small feet that go in the middle of the wooden bed slats are missing,  have you found anything to multipurpose/replace them with.  I am checking craigslist and seeing lots of people with free boxsprings that couldn't fit into their apts - within 20 miles or so and thinking of getting one.

Thanks!!!

1. I am forever seeing the aftermath of unsecured mattresses on the side of the freeway/road.  I would get a u-haul collect the mattress and make a decluttering run to the donation center as well.

2. My bed is supported by wooden blocks in the middle.  This is how the bed was designed but I dont see why you cant get some left over 2x4's and cut it to fit the height of the bed and make some blocks.
