cradle cap/dry scalp?

My 16 month old has what looks like cradle cap. She has had it for some time now. :(  It must itch because she is constantly rubbing her head and pulling at her hair. I didn't think they had it at this age? It's yellowish and scaly so I know that must be what it is. What's the best way to get rid of it?

My son had it as  a newborn and then again at 16 months.  Here's what I did.  Take some olive oil and rub it into her scalp.  Leave it on for about 10-15 minutes.  Then massage her scalp and take a fine tooth comb to gently get as much out as you can.  Then wash her hair however you normally would.  It only took one treatment like this each time to get rid of it for us.

organic virgin unrefined COCONUT OIL works wonders for this with its antibacterial properties....its the only thing that worked for us when DD had it and it will also work on dandruff for adults.  Just take a little bit in the palm of your hand 1 hour or so before their bath massage/rub into their scalp and let it marinade like that until bath time then do your normal shampoo routine and it will be gone in no time.  Sometimes I wouldnt shampoo but just rinse which would leave it greasy looking that night but would livin up by the next day.  Either way its great stuff and works really well for this.  We use coconut oil for so many things in our house, I use it as a facial exfoliator and moisturizer in the shower...its awesome and keeps pimples away too.  We eat it, use it as a lotion, put it on diaper area.  Awesome stuff.

We did this too, and I got some California Baby leave-in spray conditioner that I use instead of shampooing often. For one, she hates it when I wash her hair, and I think the leave-in conditioner helped the scalp not get dried out too.
