Recommend your favorite podcasts!

Hi all,

I have a long commute to work each day (about an hour each way) and I like to listen to podcasts as I drive. But I am always looking for new things to listen to! I know that you don't know me or my interests (other than that I visit MDC), but I am interested in hearing about any podcasts you enjoy.

Here are a few of my favorites:

This American Life

The Moth

Radiolab

Do you have other suggestions? Thanks!

I am no expert but thought that this was funny because I just listened to my first ever podcast last week after reading the following list :

http://content.usatoday.com/communities/popcandy/post/2011/02/a-pop-podcast-primer-my-top-10-comedy-podcasts/1

I decided to go with #1, Doug loves movies, and it was VERY funny and enjoyable and I recommend it. The others, I don't know but you might find some good stuff.

:o)

how about just the radio? like NPR?

i get pretty burnt out on comedy unless its sarcastic british humor.

I am a podcast junkie. :insert bag-on-head smilie:

Some of my favorites, besides the ones you've listed:

Selected Shorts from PRI (short stories read by actors)

The Bugle (sarcastic British humor at it's best)

The Slate Culture Gabfest

Filmspotting (I'm a huge movie buff)

Car Talk

A Prairie Home Companion

On Point with Tom Ashbrook (NPR)

Fresh Air (NPR)

Some slightly more, ahem, adult content:

Savage Love podcast

Risk!

WTF (this is a podcast that I've come to love-- Marc Maron interviews comics. He goes pretty deep, it's a great show. Not usually knee-slapping, it's much more introspective.)

And depending on your political leanings, there are tons of news/politics podcasts out there.

Hope this helps!
