I haven't seen anyone post of twins yet. BUT, I think in the next few weeks is when a lot of women will go to the doctor/midwife for the first appointment so we may see some coming up in the next month or so thumb.gif

DH is convinced that because his mother is a twin that we're in danger of having twins. I keep trying to explain to him that if we did have twins, it would a complete coincidence-because a. his mother is an identical twin and b. twins would have to run in MY family in order for it to be hereditary. It's not like the guy has a gene to make him shoot "twin" sperm.lol

Haha! twin sperm!

Well, I'm anxious to find out because I'm feeling so much bigger then I did with my first pregnancy, I was on clomid, and twins run in MY side of the family (my dad). So yeah, its on my mind a lot! First appt is next week and I'm hoping an ultra sound will be shortly after. :)

AKislandgirl - I understand where you're coming from... twins run on my side of the family (and DH's - even though as someone mentioned, there's no twin sperm), and I was on clomid.  Can't wait to find out!  My first real MW appt is next week.

My dad is a fraternal twin and my grandma(moms side) was a fraternal twin too.  They run in my family but I doubt I will have twins.  This is my 4th pregnancy.  lol:)

I've been teasing dh for weeks that we are having twins... He was terrified! His face would get all pale and ask if I was serious (as if I had some magical way of knowing! Lol). Tonight I asked him what he would do if we did have twins and he laughed and said it's okay, that the idea is growing on him (as long as at least 1 is a boy, he says!). Darn it, time tio move on to scaring him wroth the idea of triplets. Lol!

It's something I think about.  I'm a twin myself (my twin was miscarried) so I have a chance of twins.  BUT I know I only ovulated on the left side so my chances of that are significantly lower...  I have a love/hate relationship with being able to feel myself ovulate, lol.

lmao twin sperm!

i have a bit higher chance of twins, i have what people generally call PCOS, but my doctor said its more like a multi-follicular ovaries, i make sveral follicles and they are painful. but they have eggs, lol. yikes!

I'm at risk for twins too, I was on Femara, and the Dr. said twins were a possibility. I had 2 mature follicles 3 days before I O'd, so maybe......

I only have one. I've seen it.

But I did fertility work. The day before my counting ultrasound, I had dreams they kept finding babies. Like 8 of then.
My husband helpfully whistled 'send in the clowns' for me leaving the ultrasound.
I think current twins stats are 1 in 31 for all women. 1 in 87 excluding us fertility people. Stats say we will gave a set!!! Awesome!

Visiting from sept DDC..

I have no reason to think that I could have twins, and really don't think I will. But everytime I mention to anyone how nauseated I am this time around, they say "oh! maybe it's twins!" LOL I've never even approached the level of nausea during pregnancy like I have this time! This is my 6th. I usually feel a little queasiness here & there, but this time, whoa. I was run over by the nausea train.

I'm looking forward to hearing about any twins in the group! :)

I have no reason to suspect that we would have twins.  Although my kids would b e very pleased  :) :)

My stepdaughter, who told me I was pregnant before I knew, has also informed me I'm having twin girls. I'm HOPING it's just wishful thinking on her part!!ROTFLMAO.gif

It's crossed my mind, b/c they run on BOTH sides of my families (both gma's had twins) and my older sister had twins.  My betas are a LOT higher this time than w/ my first pg.  I've read that can mean a girl, though.  We are slightly terrified of having twins the second time around.  At least w/ your first you don't know any better.  With a 2nd/3rd child, you KNOW how much harder it is than a singleton!

Twins are a definite possibility for me since we conceived via FET and transferred 2 embryos. With DD, we transferred 2 embryos and both implanted but only 1 grew. I actually had a very strong sense that I was going to get pregnant on this cycle (in fact, I found myself feeling pregnant even before the transfer happened) and since the transfer I've had an equally strong sense that there are 2 babies inside me. Who knows. I would love twins on the one hand, but really really want to VBAC and think that my chances of that are lower with twins.

Twins also run in my family. I have twin uncles and I know there were twins farther back in the family tree as well.

I don't think I have twins- no reason to think I would.

BUT, at church this morning there was a family with a 3 year old girl, a 1 year old boy and TRIPLET newborn boys.  They were born around 27 weeks gestation...so now they are a few months old, but teeny.  I cannot even imagine that!  5 kids under 4.  It was so fun to see the cute family, but I have to say...glad they were going home with her, not me!

I was worried about twins, since I did Follistim, had multiple follicles and got high betas... but the u/s showed only one.

I. Would. Cry.

Seriously. Better her than me. LOL! I'm struggling with wrapping my head around how I'll manage 1 newborn in my already crazy life (and I only have 1 other child! And he's 7!). I can't imagine triplets.

If I had twins, I'm sure I'd do it, just like everyone else who has twins gets it done.  But I don't want to.
