In the 3rd PotC movie, Captain Jack Sparrow said "4 of you tried to kill me and one of you succeeded."

Who were the four?

Elizabeth clearly is the one who succeeded, at the end of the 2nd movie.

Will tried to kill him near the beginning of the first movie

Captain Barbosa tried to kill him at the end of the first movie.

Who was the fourth?

I always assumed it was Tia Dalma because of how she reacted when he said that.

I heard somewhere that it was actually a scripting error, but Tia Dalma would make sense....that bit about "you can't tell me you didn't enjoy it at the time" definitely supports that. He didn't say anything to suggest that the four attempts were all over the course of the films, after all.

I always figured Jack (being Jack) was counting Barbosa twice since Barbosa has attempted to kill Jack more than once. Once before the first movie, and twice in the first movie (once when he stranded Jack and Elizabeth on the Island, and once at the end).

For no particular reason at all, i always thought Mr. Gibbs was in that equation.  But now that I think about it, Im not coming up with any solid examples.  lol
