Milk comes from mommies!

I just got back from helping with a party in my 2nd grade DD's class. I brought my 9 month old along and the entire class of 20 kids was gathered around her. They wanted to know if they could feed her pretzels or goldfish. I told them she is too little for food. Several of them asked me "then how do you feed her"? I said, "I nurse her". No one knew what that meant, so I told them that I feed her milk. One kid said "Oh a bottle? I said Nope. I feed her baby milk from me.

There were two other moms there who were getting very uncomfortable.

The baby started fussing and I was busy with other kids so I just changed the subject.

It is UNBELIEVABLE that most kids don't know that human women produce milk.

Later when they are teenagers they will find out that boobs are for sex.

Then they will become adult woman who think breastfeeding is disgusting and feed formula.

This is what is so f'd up about this country!

I'm so mad.

I'm sure it isn't like this where a lot of you moms are from, but where I live, breastfeeding is a VERY abnormal thing to do.

I hear ya, mama. Where I'm from, nursing is also very very rare. Until my dd was born, my boys had no idea moms made milk. WTG for showing those kids the truth. :)
