odd question for this forum - how to get him to take a pacifier?

DS (2.5w) has a posterior tongue tie that we had clipped.  It hasn't quite done the trick so we're trying to work on it before deciding about re-clipping (and getting him adjusted).  I want him to take a pacifier (or at least suck on my finger) so I can work his tongue a little but he'll have none of it.  He's doing a lot of tongue thrusting when he sucks.  I'm pretty sure the only reason he's gaining SO well is because I've got a bit of oversupply.  Often times when he's trying to go to sleep he gets really pissed at the breast because there is milk coming out... but he won't take a finger or pacifier.  I didn't introduce a pacifier at first because of the TT and I didn't want to do anything to my supply.  But now that it's clipped and I clearly have ample milk, I'd really like him to be able to suck on something other than my breast, especially when he's getting frustrated because he doesn't want milk.

Any ideas, tips, pacifier recommendations, tricks would be helpful.

Thanks!

I would maybe test our different shapes, I was surprised how much my babies cared about that. For me they took the symmetrical ones that look like bottle nipples ( brand: soothes, or gumdrops) but refused all the shaped ones that get touted as so great.

My babies like them the most when they are tired and not hungry, so maybe look for times like that to offer them.

I second trying out different brands.  My two year was very specific about what shape she preferred as an infant (even the slight difference between mam and avent ones).

We bought 7 different kids, lol. Thus far he seems to be least offended by the Mam and soothie type one. He makes the most awful face when I try to give them to him. But I keep trying... sigh.

I question about shapes for you gals...?

At first I gave a paci to do two things, help them learn to open up and suck and also to give them something besides my finger to sooth on. For that the round thick of a soothe or gundrop seemed the right way to go. And they took to it well.

Then I hear so many things about the better thinking of a thin section at the base for better teeth stuff and such. Of course they don't have teeth yet, but will be. So I ponder which it is best to give them.
Now of course so far my two won't take the shaped ones so it may be a moot point, but I was wondering if I should be keeping at it to find ones that they will and may be better for their jaw and teeth, or just be happy that the gumdrop ones get them to open their mouth a bit and that they like them?
