hi... son is almost 3 weeks old and just noticed increasing amts of grren frothy poop along with fussiness during feeding a few days ago. realized it was due to hind milkfore milk imbalance bec of oversuooly and over active let down. did somewhat* of a 6 hr block of feeding which showed improvement right away. but was told to be careful with doing block feeding this early bec it may cause low supply issues. is this true from ur experience

*i say somewhat bec my baby has an inconsistent feeding schedule. i feed on demand which coukd be between 1 and a half to 3 hrs dependiing on how hungry he is.

pls help :)

Hi,

Block feeding shouldn't cause supply issues if you try to make sure you feed approximately the same amount on each breast in every 24 hour period.

Night time is when we have the highest levels of milk-producing hormones circulating so, if possible, feed on both sides between 1 am and 5 am.

Kellymom is a great resource for breastfeeding advice. I've added the link to the oversupply/fast letdown page. She talks about blockfeeding part way down the page

All the best and welcome to MDC
