Bibs

Hi there, I need a bib for my 11 month old that he will not be able to pull off. It does need to have some sort of backing on it to make it waterproof, not just the regular cloth kinds.

Anyone have anything that they love?

If you have an Ikea near you my friend swears by these bibs.  I'm sure you could find something similar elsewhere as well...

oh those look great! Are they waterproof also? The material looks thin .

I was going to guess that the material was nylon, but the site says polyester (maybe those are the same?)  It is fairly thin I think, which makes it more flexible for eating in.  Waterproof as far as I could tell!

(I've been blessed with fairly neat eaters, so we aren't really a bib family.  I just picked some of these up for my friend once. She loved them)

We've never had liquids seep through - it's a really tight weave. But there is no waterproof backing (like a diaper cover has).

The description says, "to retain water repellence, iron after washing." Does anyone do that? We're not a family that irons!

iron, what is that? lol

thanks so much. The nearest Ikea is about 40 mins drive, not far, but too far for bibs I guess?

I have a bunch of those Ikea bibs. I think they work great. And no, I don't iron them. I have the exact bibs pictured in the link and haven't had any problems with them (but DS isn't too messy nowadays). I also had some older Ikea bibs that sometimes leaked through. But DS is older now, and doesn't spill too much on the bib. I think they're more water resistant than waterproof. So if he spills a bit of liquid, it doesn't go through, but if he were to soak it, his shirt might get wet. Either way, I love how they are long sleeved.

Bibs with sleeves are great! I prefer fabric ones though! :)
