Banana Nut Oaties - Peggy's Kitchen

I'm going to quote from a previous thread that no one replied to - unfortunately I have the same exact question!

Today I made the "Banana Nut Oaties" from the toddler treats off of peggy's kitchen for our snack... when I mixed up all the ingredients it was too sticky to form balls, so I added 1/2 cup more of oats. It was still really sticky, but I figured maybe they would harden in the fridge, so I put them like cookie dough onto a plate and refrigerated them for an hour but they were still little sticky blobs after that! Is that the way they are supposed to be, or am I doing something wrong? LOL. They were still really yummy though, just not finger food... more like yummy mush!

Ayup.  Same thing for me.  Worthless mush, even after refrigerating!  They look absolutely nothing like the photo posted with the recipe.  Anyone know if there is an ingredient missing or something?

Also, anyone know if there is a way to review recipes posted on this site?  Or maybe a particular sub-section of some board all about recipes posted by Mothering?

I haven't made them but from the photo it looks like the balls were rolled in almonds after forming.  I'd try that and see if it makes them more finger-food friendly.  Maybe the directions were incomplete?  shrug.gif
