Vomiting after eating freeze dried apricots? *UPDATE*

DD and ds were munching on freeze dried apricots this morning, all was fine until half hour or an hour later and dd vomited. She's eaten throughout the day and no further symptoms of illness, her mood is fine, no fever, no diarrhea or vomiting.

I'd love all of your thoughts on this.

I'm fairly certain dd has had apricots both fresh and dried, we eat them pretty regularly, just never freeze dried.

Is this maybe an issue of something in the apricots being concentrated because they're freeze dried?

Or an intolerance or allergy?

TIA

If she has had them before with no issues, I wouldn't think allergies. Is it possible? Sure but if you know she hasn't reacted to it before I would think not.  I would watch out for illness for a few days.  Maybe retry the apricots in a week or so and see what happens.

DD ate some freeze dried strawberries and blueberries yesterday and had ridiculous behavior like hitting, kicking, and biting. This is very odd bahavior for dd. Also, I noticed while dd was in the tub last night that her cheeks were flushed and had been for a few hours and her under eyes were soooo dark, much darker than usual.

Thoughts? Is this the freeze dried fruits?

These are the freeze dried fruits in question.

Also wondering if ds can eat them as he had hives after the apricots the other day when dd vomited.

I don't know much about freeze dried fruit, but plain old dried fruit often has sulphites in it. That's the only thing that comes to mind, but those say "without additives and preservatives" hmmm....

That's why I bought them. All of my dc love them but, it would seem, no one can actually HAVE them.

Totally frustrating, just cannot figure out why they cannot have them. I put a call into the company and they're having someone call me back.

We've avoided them because every package I could find mentioned that they were processed on shared equipment with peanuts.

Ahhh, yes. We don't seem to have an issue with peanuts. Not yet anyway ;-)

DD never was ill and has not eaten apricots since she got sick and no further reactions. However, the issue with ds and the freeze dried fruit may not be the fruit after all. I switched from one dairy's raw cream in my tea to another's raw milk. He had been doing great on the cream but he's a mess right now. (see my other thread)
