Can someone tell me about Highlands Ranch/Littleton area????

We are moving to Colorado in April and so far my favorite area is Superior/Broomfield/Westmisister.

Just wondering about Highlands Ranch and Littleton?

We are looking for a Green and Natural area. Access to natural markets, farmers markets, nature, etc.

Trying to stay away from yuppie or conservative areas.

Any other areas? My hubby got a job in North Denver.

Highlands Ranch is a more conservative area of Colorado, so if you're looking for a more liberal place to live it might not be a good fit.  It is also pretty far south of Denver, so might mean a long commute for your hubby.  The Superior area sounds like just what you want! There are also some places in the city of Denver that might meet your needs, certain neighborhoods are a lot more family-friendly and green.

Littleton might be a little far for a commute to North Denver, but is a more moderate area with a great downtown and easy access to great bike paths and open spaces.

Highlands Ranch, Littleton, and Superior are all going to have healthy organic grocery stores, Vitamin Cottages, Farmer's Markets, and be family friendly.

I don't live in any of the areas you mentioned but when you mentioned Highlands Ranch my first thought was yuppie, conservative.  From either Littleton or Highlands Ranch a commute to Denver would involve some of the most difficult traffic in the metro area too.  I have to agree that Littleton would be closer match than Highlands Ranch but I am only familiar with a very small part of Littleton.  You should be able to find natural food stores throughout the area, with less available if you were to venture in the foothills.

You might want to look into the Sloan's Lake area, the Highlands, or even Golden.  All of those spots are on the west side of I-25 and are more north than Highlands Ranch or Littleton.  I used to live in Littleton and recently moved to Wash Park and I like it SO much better!  There are WAY more liberal people as you get closer to the city.  The suburbs are in general pretty conservative.
