Social skills class and legal release form

For any who've signed their child up for social skills classes - did you have to sign a waiver form that includes a section on the class provider having power to seek and authorize medical treatment for your child?  I was planing on signing up DS for a class, but this part of the release form seems strange to me, especially when I won't be leaving the facility when DS is in there.

It's most likely just their standard form. Releases for schools usually have language like that. Could you just mark out the lines you don't like and sign it?

Places have to have the releases on file for insurance, but I bet they would be fine with you skipping a line.

I agree - it's probably just standard procedure. Our form had a line where we could request a specific hospital if it were not a dire emergency. Many of those forms are just to protect the school/district from being sued, insurance purposes, or because there was perhaps a situation in the past that didn't work out so smoothly.
