This is where I laugh at myself :) - Page 2

I ordered the same scale that the midwife I used last time around had - it was accurate - I know because a friend who was studying to be a lactation consultant came out the next day with her digi scale and weighed the baby.

I will test it when it arrives.  Quite frankly, we are too poor to afford much else! So if I know it has a variance, I will account for that when weighing the baby.

What kind of scale was it, and how much did it cost?

VeganEmma~the belly binder is wonderful, at least it has been for me. I didn't use one after #1 and I remember my back hurt really bad from the sudden weight shift and feeling unbalanced. Somehow the belly binder helped pull everything in and made me feel more "centered" with the next two. I don't know how much it helped with the belly shrinking part cause I got way huge with #2 & #3, but it kept everything pulled in.

I love buying birth supplies! It's so fun and happy 'cause expecting a new baby is a fun and happy time! I'm not even pregnant and I still look at stuff I want to buy for "next time."

I never used the mesh panties...why does everyone love them?

good to know about the belly binder thank you!

I Love the mesh panties bc they are light and not heavy like depends would be and I don't have to worry about staining my underwear :)

Mama the fish scale will be adequate for sure. I am nursing after reduction so I needed something that was more reliable over a good period of time.

I think the 12 pound sling scales are more accurate than the the heavier ones.  I plan to test it with a 5 pound hand weight first.

Interesting, they very well be. I know mine weighed to 50lbs.

It wasn't really $30, but on memory it was in the $30s... Perhaps it was more like the $40s? But it was in that neighborhood for sure. I got mine off of Amazon, but I like Mama's idea of checking ebay. Maybe they have some decent prices....

My midwives used a fish scale, too. They had a lot of 12 pound babies.

Well, I posted a similar thread to this cuz I didn't read this one first. (bad me. :) )

I ordered from In His Hands just today. I am just using a regular home scale and subtracting mine (or hubby's) weight from the baby's weight. Close enough.

I think birth supplies shopping is fun to. I'm mostly done except a few local things I have to get. Total came to a little over $100 but compare that to going to the hospital... LOL

I'm not due until early May but I like to be prepared and I'm still not sure if we'll be moving before the birth so thought to get it out of the way and have the kit with me.

I've almost finished getting everything I need for baby. Only a couple odds and ends left and I'm good to go.

I ended up getting the Seca one off of Amazon (44.25 I believe. Still better than 60 + sling). I basically got it for $4 though because I signed up for the Amazon cc and got a $40 credit. nice:)

That is a good idea to just use a regular scale and - your weight. Oh well, I need a baby scale anyway:)
