Has anyone done titering?

My husband and I are at loggerheads over vaccinating our 6 month old.

He got the full dose of 2 month vaccines at 3 months (I stalled). He had a fever and was cranky for 8 days afterwards. At 5 months, he got Pediarix only, and was less cranky and fevered, but it still lasted 8 days; he also got a bad cough. These reactions concern me; I am afraid it indicates that maybe these vaccines will have adverse long term effects on my child.

So while my intuition and the scattershot research I have been able to do as a new mom tell me "enough," give this child's immune system a break, my husband does not agree. If we could get a test that would show that he now has high enough levels of immunities from the rounds of shots he has gotten, I think my husband would agree to slow down the vaccine schedule until he is at least bigger, and can better tolerate all the substances he is subjected to in a shot.

My husband is a stickler for references and mainstream science--and I can't find enough information to get him to ease up.  I am very afraid of Isaac getting an allergy or other negative, chronic, auto-immune reaction from the aluminum and other substances in vaccines.

Can anyone at least speak to the experience of titering, to find out what a baby's immunity levels are? Is that even what it's called? What does it entail?

Thank you so much.

This forum is full of information, but it is also hard to get time to read carefully all of the things I would like to explore, so forgive me if this is a repeat question.

It's just a blood draw. My kid's school was trying to require a second round of chicken pox vaccine. So we pulled a titer and my kid was immune.

One thing is that there are not established serologic correlates of immunity for everything. So doing the labs may not give you all the evidence you seem to be seeking.

Why is it on you to justify why NOT to vaccinate? Why doesn't your husband have to do the research to justify to YOU why you ought to inject your tiny baby with a manufactured illness? A friend was in this exact situation, and found that she became too emotional when reading about adverse vaccine reactions, so she asked her husband to take over and do the research with her.  He ended up being MORE anti-vax than she was after he did the research.  I think your husband needs to do some of this work on his own.
