HELP! Weird rash.

So, here's the deal. 5 days ago my 2 year old son broke out in a gnarly rash on his hips, arms, legs, tummy and face. He had no fever and no new soaps or food. I was like, what the HECK! Took him to the docs and of course they had no clue. I started changing his diet around, taking things out, etc. Stopped with his toothpaste I mean everything I could think of! But here we are on day 5! Here are the weird things about it.

*It leaves every night, comes back at 10am on the DOT (nearly), gets pretty bright through the morning till like nap time. He sleeps it goes away and barely comes back again till the next morning.

*it's in the same spot. Tops/back of his arms, hips, face, bellybutton area and a little on his legs

*he got a fever yesterday. Day 4 of the rash... so the doctor said oh it's viral. But my question is (which went unanswered) why did it take 4 days for a fever to show up and why it is coming and going so consistently?!

*They don't seem to bother him and Hydro cream did nothing to take them away.

The rash KINDA looks like hives but not really. Originally it did but now it's spotsand small patches or blotches.

Anyways.... anyone ever have ANY kinda issue like this???? I've pretty much ruled out allergies cause it's not consistent with any thing that could be causing it! FREAKING WEIRDIMG02778-20110219-1159.jpgIMG02784-20110219-1209.jpg

Things like that tend to heal while we sleep.. so reappearing a certain amount of time after sleeping would be sort of normal. No other ideas... sorry! Some things like this we never actually know.

I would have to second what your doc said.  It is an immune response to something, possibly virus.  It is really hard to pinpoint what could have caused it--it could have been a virus he contracted a week ago.

Something like that happened to my daughter when we were on a car trip.  She often reacts to soy that way-- but she hadn't eaten soy at all.  It just showed up, and then the next day it was gone. We thought it might have been pollen or something else environmental we encountered driving.

I hope your little one is better soon!
