Suggestions for creative food recipes for 12 month old

I have a very soon to be one year old who is still breastfeeding but also eating lots of solids and I need some ideas for creative, healthy solid food recipes for her to eat. I work 6 days a week, so I don't have a lot of spare time to prepare meals. If you know of any websites or books with quick, healthy recipes I would love to know about them!

Hi,

Welcome to MDC.

Can you just make some extras when you cook dinner at night and pack them  in the right portion sizes for her?

We have 9 m.o. but we never make separate food for her. We do cut veges differently sometimes. For example if we are roasting veges in little chunks for a salad then we'll do some longer fingers for her because she's still not great at the pincer grip.

We do the same thing. With the exception of a couple of things, Cecilia (10 months) just eats what we eat. I might steam her veggies a little bit longer (or just eat mine softer than usual), and things like that, but for the most part we all eat the same food. Even if Cece doesn't eat much of it. lol.gif

I agree, we try to give Max as much of the same food as we have as possible. For recipes I love AllRecipes. You have to have some idea what you want to cook, but there are countless recipes for every conceivable ingredient there.

I've been having the same problem. I work and DH has been working 2nd shift. I was in need of fast dinners. What I've started doing is on Sat or Sun, I've been roasting a bunch on veggies and then I chop them up throughout the week for DS to eat. So far I've done: zuchinni, butternut squash, apples, pears, peaches, sweet potatoe, potatoes. Also, I've been using frozen veggies such as peas, carrots, green beans (his favorite), broccoli and cauliflour.  I just cook them a bit longer to make them softer than what I like and cut them up.

my biggest problem has been protein. I tend to stick to chicken for him. he won't eat a whole breast so that will last several days.  Or if it's bath night, I feed him large curd cottage cheese. He loves it but it is one of the messiest foods. I'm not brave enough for spaghetti yet ;)
