I've been eating raw vegan for several years, and have had oversupply issues while breastfeeding. There seem to be foods that make it worse, such as spinach, and anything else purported to be a galactagogue (such as hemp seeds, quinoa, etc.) but the big trouble is that anything with protein seemed to really cause me a problem. I tried adapting my diet by adding other foods while breastfeeding, but foods like eggs or fish cause me to hyperlactate. I have been blockfeeding to correct this, but I've also had severe mastitis three times and don't want to be too engorged. Now I am eating rice and fruit pretty much, I am wondering if anyone else has noticed this link with the protein and the oversupply?

I was able to get it under control by pumping everything off, and then doing blockfeeding- where I feed baby twice on more on one side before switching. I was engorged for a couple of days, but then things settled down- and so did baby's "indigestion". But I'm still avoiding high protein foods like fish and eggs, etc. I've been eating raw almond butter etc. instead.
