Is there ANY research out there comparing rates of side effects when vaxxing babies vs. older...

I can't find a single thing on the internet after searching for a while.  Does anyone know of any studies that have been done or even anecdotal evidence?  Almost all my friends delay at least some of the vaccines for their babies, and the reasoning seems to be that as they get older children's bodies and immune systems mature and are better able to handle the onslaught of foreign chemicals.  That's the reason I have delayed them for my kids.  It makes intuitive sense - but is there any research?  I'm not terribly internet-savvy, so maybe it's my search strategy that's the problem!!  Thanks for any help or input.  :)

I was actually going to post the same question just now! I have heard from different sources that delay also makes sense if you are breastfeeding. I can't find the information on this though, in Dr Sears for example, though someone said it was there.

Here is an article that describes immune function mainly in conjunction with the aluminum in vaccines.  I wouldn't say this is a conclusive article, but it certainly has some good immune system info.  I actually had a medical provider tell me to not vax before age 3 b/c the immune system is more mature by then, this article explains why she said that basically.  I also think there is a study of Japanese children & delaying vaccines until age 2 & how it affected autism rates.  Don't have the link to that.

Thanks for that link, Amy.  Wow, that makes me angry to read.  It gives me a jumping point, too, to look for further research, although it sounds like not much at all has been done (not surprising).

The more research I do, the more I find myself getting angry.  I try to focus mainly on gov't websites or data that can be corroborated on gov't or mainstream websites.  In fact I am in the process of compiling data (in the form of 22 fact-based questions) on each "VPD" & vaccine so I can have all vaccines data in a nice neat package. I was looking for volunteers but no one is interested so far.  I do plan on sharing my final product with the Mothering & HMN communities once I am done.

Try this website too. It's an "anti-vax" website but provides links to the original data from the CDC, AAP, vaccine companies, etc.

Here are some more links that found in the course of my research...they're not all research-based nor are they meant to be conclusive, but I find them enlightening nonetheless.

This puts this in perspective a bit (not all VPDs are included though but the trends are similar with Polio & others

And just to prove that not all people who are "anti-vax" are uneducated or uninformed.
