Rnd 17 - * Sc in each of next 7 Sc, 2 Sc in next Sc * repeat from * 7 times, Sc in each of next 6 Sc, 3 Sc in next Sc.

Thank you! DD is crochetting a horse from a free pattern we found on-line, and I don't know how to interpret this line for her.

I would take those instructions to mean that you would work the section enclosed in the *. * a total of 7 times and then finish the row out with the remaining instructions.

Since yesterday I've done 3 heads (as I was trying to figure it out) and one neck / body. DD crochetted the head, and is starting the body.

I tried the ears, and got totally lost in the instructions. I might ask for help  later, if I don't figure it out by googling. But right now I need a bit of a break from crochetting lol.gif. It is the most crochetting that I've done since I tried to crochet a wool diaper cover 3 years ago. It turned out great, but I used synthetic yarn, thinking it would only be a 'practice run'. Then I ran out of patience...lol.gif

Thanks again for your help! I will post pics later. This is what we are attempting: http://www.allfreecrafts.com/crochet/pony.shtml

Oh wow! (this is coming from me, a total NON-Crafter, so please forgive me). DD just attached the head and the body that I crochetted. (I tried to do it myself, but I wasn't happy with how it was turning out.) She also attached the mane and the eyes, and the tail. It looks so much better than I imagined!

Now I just have to do the legs, and the ears. I'm pre-doing  it for her, and then writing down the pattern in the way that it is easier for her to understand. She just started crochetting 2 days ago, and of course she won't try "easy" patterns. Her head turned out just right! But the neck / body is a bit more involved. We will see if she perseveres.

But here's the horse that I've done so far. But all the credit goes to DD, as she gave it personality and made it into a horse! blue horse 001.JPG

She should be very proud of her efforts - that horse looks awesome!! Amigurumi (crocheted animals, food, etc) are really difficult to make, especially when you are new at it! If she enjoys making the horse check your local library for pattern books and I would also be pleased to share some of my links for free patterns for food and a few critters as well!! Can't wait to see the finished horse!!

Thanks! We will see how things work out. (as for me, 3 more legs to go!) We will post more pics when she finishes her pink horse.
