Yes, I know. Â It's much more likely that *I* DIDN'T PAY ATTENTION and COMPLETELY FORGOT whether or not my kids are COMING HOMEÂ - on a school night, no less. Â After all, I do that all the time. Â They leave the house and I just FORGET what day to expect them to return. Â Maybe they'll be home for dinner. Â Or maybe they won't be back 'til next Tuesday. Â Oh, well. Â They'll turn up some time. Â Yep. Â That's just the kind of mom I am!
Â
Besides, it would be COMPLETELY uncharacteristic of YOU to do a piss-poor job communicating your plans and leave someone else frustrated, wondering what your intentions are. Â No. Â NONE of your friends, family members, coworkers or life partners have EVER mentioned you having a problem with that! Â
Â
So, I'm sure you're right. Â It MUST have been MY mistake, and not yours.
Â
Jeez. Â We're not in grade school; we're almost 40! Â When you forget to do something, and someone calls you on it, do you REALLY think that if you just insist you did it...and if you use a sufficiently high-handed, condescending tone...that the other person will ACTUALLY be convinced THEY screwed up? Â Honestly.
