My 9 year-old is having pain and pressure above his left eye. it started a few nights ago, the day before he was to go on a school trip to go ice fishing. he ended up going cause he didn't feel the pain the morning, but had a horrible day. i guess he had cried a lot and had gotten his feet wet, and was very cold. and he complained about the pain having returned that day as well. he ran a fever that evening, and a slight one the day after. he spent a lot of time on the couch. but as of 2 days ago, he's seemed fine except the pain is still there and is worst when moving around a lot, or if he's annoyed by his brother's crying.
he hasn't had any cold symptoms beyond this pressure pain. i've had many sinus infections myself and know where it's located etc. he has a stuffy nose on the opposite side, so on the right, where i've also noticed he's had a bit of red cheek. he says the pain travels, from above his eye towards the temple on same side.
i've been having sinus discomfort myself as of the past week, i think because of the cold, our air is very dry at home.

i'm ready to acknowledge it's just a sinus infection, but i'm wondering if this is the case when there is no discharge at all from his nose, and the stuffy side is on the oppsite side of where the pain is located. also, he doesn't appear 'sick' at all, except he doesn't have a huge appetite as he normally has. he did have a more severe cold a week prior to this, but in between everything cleared up fine. the fact that he ran a fever the first day, seems to be a sign that indeed it's an infection going on.
Â
he says he hasn't been able to notice if the pain has gotten less or is the same since it started.
Â
i guess i'm asking if anyone else has had this type of no-discharge sinus pain. while i have had sinus pressure with no discharge for the past week as well, i have not been feeling the sharp pain he is experiencing, just pressure.
