Is it just me or do HE washers not seem to wash dipes well?

We got a new HE washer (we had a different one and had issues with it so we returned it and now have a good one) and it's a fisher and paykel and works really well.

I *feel* like my dipes just don't get clean enough though. They are all stained now, but the other washer we just had sucked and really didn't wash them well so IDK if it's just old stains.

When we had our old washer that was not HE we had no stains...

So what do you think? Anyone else had this issue? Should I just bleach the dipes or something? I have tried borax and washing soda to try and boost the whitening..but it didn't work. I use all small and mighty on the dipes. They are flip stay dry dipes.

I figure diapers get stained, non-issue for me. In the summer I sun bleach them tho, because its fun. Sometimes I notice a smell issue and I throw in our towels from the bathroom so it gives extra water and it helps the smell immensely.

You could try oxygen stain booster. I wouldn't bleach.

stains don't really bother me, as long as the diapers are clean. I have a whirlpool HE washer and thought it would make my diaper washing efforts easier, but it's hasn't. I have to constantly strip my diapers. I think it just doesn't use enough water to wash the diapers well. I've heard of people throwing a wet towel in with the diapers to trick the washer into using more water. I haven't tried it yet so I'm not sure if it works. I also use BG fleece/microfiber, and cotton certainly gets cleaner. I just love the convenience of the AIOs

My LG HE washer has a water plus button which draws more water. I also run a quick cold cycle first to rinse off poo and choose no spin, so the dipes are wet and heavy for the full cycle (hot, extra water, extra rinse, heavy soil level, stain cycle, 2:20h). I have no stains. I had stink issues but using mofre detergent fixed that, and it has to be tide free or all free n clear, natural detergents did not work at all on microfiber and fleece (stinkeroos!!!!).

I've never had a problem with my HE washer. I wash on heavy duty cycle. I've never had to do a pre rinse or 2nd rinse. But all my dipes are 100% cotton or cotton hemp. I do have a few microfibre flannel topped inserts, but no problems there either. I don't even wash In hot water.
You might have to try playing around with your cycle settings to see what works best for your machine.

Yeah I guess they are just stained b/c yesterday I out it on heavy duty and opened the lid and it was completely full of water so they have to be getting clean. I think too it may be b/c I used all cotton before and now using microfiber so they just hold the stains more.

Thanks guys!

I don't think All is a very good detergent.  We used to use it for all our clothes with our first 2 kids (now 7 and 5.)  I got those baby clothes out for our new baby and they were all stained and gross.  I washed them once in Biokleen powder and they were completely stain-free!  We have much better luck with powdered detergents, probably b/c most include oxygen bleach and washing soda.  Powdered are also better for HE washers b/c they don't create the biofilm around the drum.

I also have an LG with the water plus button and do what the previous poster described.  My dipes are fine, microfiber and all.
