Just wanted to let you all know that persistence does pay off...even if it's 8 months later! :)

DS pretty much stopped napping last summer at just over the age of 2. He wouldn't nap at all in his bed. Sometimes we would get car naps, but that was it.  In the fall, I let him start laying on the couch for a bit and having tv time, just so I could have some time to myself. If he was in his room, quiet time would sometimes be noisy time and his baby sister would wake up. In January I decided to make quiet time in his room again. We've been doing it every day we are home and sure enough, he is starting to nap again. There were a few bribes involved...more me just discussing why sleep helps him have a better attitude. "If you don't have enough sleep we won't be able to go out for dinner because you will have a hard time controlling yourself." Another thing I think helped a little bit is that his sister consistently wakes up at 6am and he wakes up when she does now. His sleep has shifted a bit, bed at 6pm-7pm and wake up at 6am. Then nap around noon, ideally, but most days it starts later than that. Days he dosen't nap, it's for sure a 6pm bedtime. (Somehow how his sister is sleeping 5pm-6am and taking a 1.5 hour morning nap and a 1 hour afternoon nap).

I was seriously ready to completely give up naps sooooo many times, but I'm glad I kept with it. I am so much happier and refreshed myself. :)
