Taking a trip tomorrow, never used disposable diapers

I posted this in diapering, but got no response yet.  Thought I'd try here.

I've always used cloth diapers for my kids, but I'm going on a trip and will use disposables for a week.

Ds is 17 months.  I got some Seventh Generation size 4 disposables and tried a couple out on him, he seems to tolerate them fine.  Now, will they last overnight, or do I need to do something else for overnight (like our regular overnight cloth diapers or hemp liners to put in the sposies)?

Dd just turned 4, still wears diapers at night, and some nights wets heavily.  I tried sposies a couple times when she was littler, and she got horrible rashes (her skin is very sensitive).  I'm debating whether to buy a pack (of 30) size 5 Seventh Gen diapers for her.  How likely is it that they will make it through the night?  Should I just bring cloth for her? -- since it's only pee washing isn't as big a deal.  Should I get sposies and bring hemp liners in case they leak overnight?

Please share your experiences.  I don't want to get regular bleached diapers because of sensitive-skinned babes.

TIA

We only use disposables for big long trips as well. I found that some disposables work well overnight, in Europe I found nighttime disposables and daytime disposables. Others were leaking and I had to change diapers once overnight. Honestly, you really need to try it out and see for yourself how well they work for you.

I dont know how much help this will be, but I always travel with my cloth and it goes really well.
But, I also started using disposables for night a few weeks ago.  We started because of a severe diaper rash, then not long after that a bout of diarrhea.
ANywyas, we decided to stick with the disposables at night because DS was ALWAYS soaking through his cloth at night. (I was using pockets with lots of stuffers)

Anyways, what I have found is that a disposable seems to hold the same amount of pee as a well stuffed pocket.  I have to change him 1-2 times in the middle of the night.

So, a few cloth for night wont be that difficult, but a disposable at night will probably hold the same amount as a cloth.

You could always take some of the diaper covers you use w/ cloth to put over the disposables at night for extra leak protection.
