Question about 4 week Ultra sound

Hi , I have a question , according to my due date calculator I am due on October 30th . So , that means , I am 4 weeks 2 days preggo .

Today I went to our health center and the nurse there checked my c/s scar (at my request) but she didn´t see anything else , only a very thick uterus lining . 

However , she did a transabdominal US and the machine , they have is quite old .

So , my question , is it normal not to be able to see anything at that stage ?

I don´t have any symptoms , that would indicate , that the pregnancy is abnormal , like bleeding or so

Is it normal to not be able to see anything at that stage? Yes, quite. You wouldn't see anything on a trans-abdominal US until a little later on. (I'm not sure exactly how much later.)

with the US I had at 6 weeks they had to do a trans-vaginal, and all that could be seen was a little bubble. 

at 4 weeks you should have just implanted, and baby is about the size of the tip of a pencil still, because growth doesn't start until after implantation.

i think you need an hcg of about 1500

Nothing will show up at 4w. I went to the ER after my dr freaked me out thinking I might have an ectopic pregnancy with my oldest DC. I was 4 weeks and something. They couldn't see anything at that point beyond a slightly thicker uterine lining. At 5-6w you might be able to see a sac. 6.5w is the earliest you're going to see a heartbeat. I wouldn't worry. It's still super early!

why in the world would she do an abdominal u/s at 4 weeks??? You would think she would know better. I would say in the future, tell them you don't want an u/s every time you walk through the door.

They did a vaginal on me @ 5 weeks, only because the receptionist didn't pay attention and booked it too early.  Anywho, all they saw was my uterus with fluid and a tiny yolk sac.  Went back at 7 weeks and there was our tiny bean beating.  Here I am at 25.5 weeks with my sweet baby girl so pay no mind to what they saw.  I didn't even get one abdominaly until I was 12 weeks.  Even at the 9 week US it was vaginally.
