Am I forgetting anything??

Thread Starter

I am currently breastfeeding my 8 month old.  She eats 2-3 meals of solids per day for a total of about 6-8oz of food and I pump for her at work.  She takes about 14oz per day at daycare and one of those bottles is already formula as the amount that I am pumping goes down each week.  Is there anything new that I can try to get more milk or do I just need to accept that I might need to end up supplementing with more formula?  As a side note, we nurse exclusively on the weekends and she is very content so I don't feel it is a milk supply issue as much as I can't seem to pump enough.  I used to pump 17oz and am now down to 12.  Even less on some days.

Anyways, things that I have tried or am currently doing:

Mothers Milk Tea

More Milk Plus

Lots of water

Oatmeal

Fenugreek (4 X 3)

Blessed THistle (4 X 3)

Marshmallow (4 X 3)

Shatavari (2 X 3)

Co-sleeping

Adding pumps (I pump 4 times per day)

Power pumping (although I rarely have time to do this)

Am I missing anything?

Thanks,

I don't have much to suggest.  Good luck!

I would keep in mind, though, that for some women, galactogogues actually work against us and lead to a decrease in supply.

Maybe this website can help: http://blogs.babiesonline.com/baby/increasing-breast-milk-supply-without-galactogogues/

Raw almonds can also help with milk supply.  Good luck winky.gif
