we're limited by what's available at our small coop and a few conventional grocery stores.....are there some good online sources for the kinds of hard to find allergy-free, whole/natural foods, etc.? i've come across a few but maybe you all have some gems?

thanks!

IDK what your limitations are but we don't eat wheat and/or gluten and have found this to be a really great source of blanched almond flour. This won't help if you can't do almonds, obviously. I find I get better results from their flour over Bob's.

We also get flour and oil here .

thanks!

we don't do gluten or dairy and some other things.....i'm hoping to find a good -- and if possible cheap -- place to get some staples and more "specialty" allergy-free type stuff at one company. for example, we used to get the arrowhead mills puffed millet bags but our current coop doesn't stock it.

believe it or not, you can buy LOTS of healthy/organic/allergen-free foods on Amazon in bulk.  we have amazon prime for always free shipping since we use it a lot, and you can do the subscribe and save option, too to save an extra 15%.

start here, and then just search for the brand/product you're interested in: http://www.amazon.com/Natural-Organic-Grocery/b/ref=sv_gro_6?ie=UTF8&node=51537011

I was also going to suggest Amazon. When you buy in bulk, there's some really good deals with the free shipping. Barry's Farm (online) is another place. I also buy things from Costco. I end up going to 6 stores on grocery day though (Asian market, Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Natural Food store, plus regular grocery stores) to be able to get the food we need on a fixed budget. My kids have many food intolerances and natural/healthy food is pretty expensive!

Idk if this will help you much but I LOVE AzureStandard.com    If you have a co-op in your area which if you call they can tell you and you don't have to pay shipping it just comes once a month. Its great for bulk and they have good crackers I saw and pretzels.

You have to have an account to see the prices but just type in gluten free and/or Mary's Gone Crackers

Thanks! So you order wholesale from this company and they deliver to your local store? I'll check it out!

No, a dropsite. They will give you a list of the closest ones to you if you call them. I run the yahoo group for my dropsite, which is at a home in a residential neighborhood. They deliver by semi every 4 weeks, but you order and pay for your stuff individually. It is a pretty big cost savings for us, their produce is great!

This exactly! Just call them and find the nearest drop to you. Its basically a truck that stops for a group of people along the way on his normal route if that makes sense. Usually there is a min. but I do $50 everytime.
