lice in eyelashes

I've read past threads about treating lice naturally but what can I do about lice in the eyelashes? They seem to be stuck to the base of the lashes and embedded in the eyelid.  I can't just comb them out with  a nit comb or eyelash brush.  I've tried vaseline  but it didn't work probably because I don't want to get in the children's eyes.   My two year old son and 3 month old daughter with lots of hair have it the worst.    Does anyone have any experience with this??? I'm at lost at what to try next.

For lice in eyelashes, apply Vaseline to the eyelashes twice a day for a week to kill them.
