missed my period..

i gave birth last july 2010..i only got back my period last december of  2010.. and as well the following month january.. but this month february i missed my period for a week..  im a nursing mom but i also gave food and water to my baby... what's happening? why i don't have my period this month? how can i get back my period? im confused..

There are many reasons why women miss their periods. Nursing itself may give you irregular periods and it sounds like you still are nursing, even though your giving your baby some food and water. You may actually not even be ovulating, even if you get your period. Additionally, if you're feeling any type of stress, you may miss your period. If you're not pregnant, then it's probably just that as you continue to nurse, you will experience these irregular periods. However, if you're really worried, you should check in with your doctor.
