16 Month Old...not a big eater

Thread Starter

Oliver still mostly nurses.  I would say about 80-90 percent of his calories are from breastmilk.  I offer him a variety of foods and he will taste, seems to enjoy and does swallow some...some he chews for awhile and spits out.

So...I am not really trying to be pushy about the issue...I keep offering when he wants and he loves to give everything a try...even if we are eating snacks...he always wants a bite...and we of course share.   I guess it might be that he is a bit of a grazer (I am myself)

Anyway, I am a Military Wife in Germany...and I don't have a huge option with pedis here.   Olivers Pedi is always encouraging us to wean him and give him pumped milk or toddler formula from a sippy if he won't take cows milk.  I smile and nod because we don't do cows milk for him...but still, I am a bit hesitant to bring up solid issues to the pedi (they also demanded that I give him solids at four months....eyeroll...I choose to ignore this as well)

Anyone have creative food ideas for a toddler that might make him a bit more interested...OR...do you think this is an okay thing.  My LLL leader insists it is fine...Oliver is gaining weight...and developing well....hitting all milestones...so...I dunno....Thoughts?

as long as his weight is good i wouldn't worry.

my 14m dd is about 75% breastmilk.  with no extra fluid in a cup/sippy.
