Ok so...

I'm looking for a good birth control option. I've had one child and am getting ready to have another in a couple weeks here. I have had hyperemesis gravidarum during both pregnancies, and when I was younger and on the pill it made me throw up at least once a day, with terrible headaches, pms all the time, light sensitivity, and almost no sex drive. I fear that any hormonal bc is going to have similar effects.

I thought about the copper implant but I have an allergy to cheap metal and I know it contains some nickel. I've always had very heavy periods and suffer from borderline anemia and I've read that it can cause even heavier bleeding. I've also read a lot of troubling things about it here on the forums, so I'm very wary.

Condoms are irritating to me and have given me an increase in UI's in the past, and ideally I'd like something convenient that I don't have to worry about a lot, isn't terribly messy, and that doesn't create a lot of garbage.

I know very little about sponges or diaphrams or anything like that, except that you have to put them in way ahead of time and leave them in way after, or something like that? Is it really ok to have spermicide up against your cervix for so long? I've heard they are less effective than other forms of bc, and I don't know if medicare will cover something like that.

Any advice is very much appreciated!
