Breech baby, those who have turned, how long did it take?

I am 31 weeks and just found out this little one is breech as of right now. I believe she goes between breech and transverse but has been breech for at least the last week. Anyway, I have to get her turned as we are planning a home birth. So I have been doing the breech tilt 3x day for 10-15 minutes a day, putting ice on the top of my belly and music at the bottom, massages in a clockwise movement, doing knee/chest position at least twice a day for 10-15 minutes, acupressure on my pinkie toes for 30 mins a day...I will see my chiropractor next Monday ( I live 80 miles from him so it's hard to get in more than once a week) for the webster technique. I only found out the baby was breech this past Monday so have only been doing these things for a couple days. I'm wondering for those of you whose breech babies successfully turned, how long of doing this stuff did it take? And then did your baby stay head down? Are there things that help keep the baby head down?

Mine was still flipping up and down as I approached 39 weeks. I just had an ultrasound today at 40w1d, and he's head down. I'm pretty sure he's out of room to flip now, and has been for a week or so.

From when I found out he was breech to when he flipped to vertex, about a month. The actual flip, about 2 minutes. ;) And he stayed vertex ever after.

With my last I found out at 30 or 31 weeks he was breech and he flipped back and forth between breech and vertex until 37 weeks.  I did inversions and saw a chiro for Webster...that was all I did.  Oh and talked to him about getting head downsmile.gif  One day I felt hiccups in 3 different places as he moved throughout the day...under my ribs, then around my belly button and then down low...crazy kid.

I'm 28 weeks now and know this one is still flipping.

My #3 turned breech between 32 and 34 weeks.  Chiropractic and massage got him turned back about a week later, but he flipped and flopped and ended up breech again at 39w.  Another adjustment and massage got him back to vertex the next day.  I continued adjustments and massage in between and after he turned; he continued to flip from ROA clear through to LOA and even would flop a bit diagonally.  But he was born head first ;)

My doula and chiro recommended deep squats, curb walking, walking up the stairs sideways to try to get him to engage once he was head down.  Also, I have read here and there about belly binding for baby position.  Might not hurt to check that out!

This one didn't settle head down til 34 weeks.  Keep in mind that with each subsequent pregnancy baby has more room to move, and gets 'caught' head down later.

I'm 37.5 weeks, this is #3, and mine just went head-down yesterday after alternating between breech and transverse the entire pregnancy.  I had tried acupuncture, moxa, and Webster, as well as spinningbabies stuff.  I gave up and scheduled the c-section 2 weeks ago when the OB said there was less than 1% chance she would turn.

There's no guarantee she's going to stay head down, and I've had 2 prior c-sections, so induction is out of the question for me, but I was really impressed she did it.

For the record, the turn itself was SO PAINFUL and so stressful that I went to L&D thinking my uterus had ruptured.  I had 4 really strong contractions, the last of which lasted 5 minutes and had me on my hands and knees.  My last baby was 9 pounds at 39 weeks, so that's a lotta baby to be doing a somersault in there!  Keep the faith!  Visualize it and believe!

My guy was 9lb, 5oz and 22.5" long, born 2 weeks after his gymnastics stopped.  Sometimes size isn't an issue!

And Lyss, GOOD LUCK wiht your VBA2C.
