Un-freezing credit.

I'm a good girl. If I don't have it, I don't spend it. I pay cash for everything. My only debt is my student loans.

But the Jeep finally bit it. I had to get a new one soon anyway due to expecting Kiddo #3. I've always paid cash for my cars and expected to have some time to save up. Kinda kicking myself for putting my $5k tax refund all towards student loans now. But anywho...

I applied for a car loan. They came back and said I was an automatic deny. What? WTF? With my only debt being my student loans I should have excellent credit! No way do I have other debts! In fact a few years ago I put a freeze on my.... oh. yeah. I feel dumb now.

I've tried calling the credit companies to get the freeze I put on my credit lifted and for the life of me I can't reach a real human. Nor can I find any place online that explains how to go about requesting the freeze be lifted. Requesting the freeze was super easy. Undoing it, not so much. If I weren't pregnant I would say screw it and go car free for a while.

Has anyone ever had to do this? How did you go about un-freezing your credit?

I'm afraid I'm going to end up at one of those sketchy $999 down, no credit check places. greensad.gif

GO to creditboards.com (org??)  they maybe able to help you.  But yes putting the freeze on the freeze on the accounts is easy, getting them working again is next to impossible.

Thanks for the link. A quick search of the forums do say that people have been successful doing it looks like it's through the mail and slow. If you DO eventually find a live human on the phone they're in India.

This will be fun.
