Please help me with my little boy's Lyme results

So I had my 2.5 year old tested even though he is not really showing any symptoms just because I am a neurotic mommy who doesn't really know how long she has had Lyme. I got an official diagnosis about 4 months ago, but previously had neurological symptoms for almost 2 years and was told it was MS.

I did nurse for 2 years prior to knowing what I had so I have had a constant worry that I could have passed the bacteria to him, though I realize that is not proven. I also knew that I could have had Lyme even while I was pregnant and it could be congenital.

His Igenex results were IGM WB Negative with no bands positive.

IGG WB positive with 30++, 39+, 41+++, 58+

We are in TX and my LLMD does not treat kids, so I am sort on my own here. With no symptoms (that I am aware of) at this time what you you guys do?

I am freaking out.

Thank you.

Here's what happened with me (also, there's a huge lyme thread on here if you haven't looked at it already). I have one normal kid (age 13), then two kids with food intolerances (age 10, age 5). Last spring, after going to an osteopath for a while (who also happens to be a great lyme doctor), he said I think it's possible that you have lyme and passed it to your kids. Uh, what? I've never even had a tick on me (I live 20 minutes from Lyme, CT though). He said that most people don't even remember having ticks. So he tested me first (Igenex), positive. Then the two food intolerant kids (also positive). With the 10yo going on treatment, he's had more symptoms, and a lot of die off. With the 5yo, it seemed like she didn't have that much going on. He said, let's start her on abx and see what happens. If she gets better, great. If she gets worse, it means it's good because it's die-off, but if she stays the same, then we won't treat her, because maybe she's kicking it on her own. He started her on abx, and she started sleeping through the night and has slept every night since. Huh. So he did switch her to an herbal formula which is gentler than the abx (Byron White formula) but she's still on it (almost a year later). She and my son have both added foods back into their diet, so I know it is helping. I think because my son had it for much longer, it's taking longer for him to heal as well. And I haven't tested my oldest daughter yet, though I should, since I really don't know when I was infected either. And yes, they tested me for MS as well. So I know that I didn't answer your question, but it seems like what my lyme doctor did with my daughter might be worth it to try for your child. Have you looked to see if there are any LLMDs around you?

There's also an awesome mama on here who does herbal lyme treatment. She's active on the lyme thread, and on several others.

I guess I am one of those herbal moms!
I tested positive for lyme and since the lyme is old, I didn't do abx. Not sure what the numbers mean so I ant help you with that.

Erin, what are you doing for the lyme you have?

Thank you all for your replies. I have been reading the larger Lyme thread as well.

I have been trying various treatments for the past 6 months or so. I started out with herbal and homeopathic drops recommended to me by a naturopath who performed EDS on me. When my symptoms continued to progress (at the same pace, not dramatically as in a herx), I got nervous and decided to go with more conventional meds.

I could never tolerate the dosages of antibiotics that my LLMD recommended so I did decide to start IV rocephin therapy. I have been getting this for 5 weeks now along with Rifampin and Flagyl. These oral antibiotics are supposed to target the bartonella and they cyst form of lyme respectively.

My LLMD does not see children unfortunately, but I did get a name of someone in Missouri so I am going to be calling in the morning to hopefully set up at least a phone consult asap.

I just know the torture I have gone through with this disease and it makes me have a very high level of anxiety about my son's future. I will do anything to protect him from what I have gone through.

I am not against herbal therapy and in fact would like to add this on to my regime but my energy has totally been diverted at this point to finding someone to help me with my son.

Thanks again for reading and responding!

Erin
