Brown CM at 4-6 DPO

Here are the details of my cycle...

First day of period 2/8. 

Started having slippery CM on 2/16, 2/17, 2/18 and EWCM on 2/19.  I have been calculating ovulation from 2/19 because of the EWCM.  I do not temp, but I check my cervix. 

I had right side ovary pain on 2/17 and again on 2/19.

We DTD on 2/12, 2/14, 2/17, 2/20.

Last night (2/23) at 11 pm I had brown cm.  I had to wipe a few times to get rid of all of it.  Any thoughts to what it may have been?  I am thinking it is too early for implantation unless I ovulated earlier than I thought.  The 2WW is so hard!

That it was brown and not red implies it was old blood, not new blood, so I would be inclined to think that it was possible your cervix had been irritated and that's what caused the bleeding. It does seem a bit early for implantation bleeding, and I would expect implantation bleeding to be more red and less brown. It could be though, if you did in fact ovulate earlier than expected.

My implantation bleeding started brown around 5-6 DPO, though I am wondering if I ovulated earlier than I thought.  I didn't want to get my hopes up, but it definitely seemed different from my period.  AF never starts brown. If it continues to be just a little, like when you wipe, it's a good sign. Mine even changed to bright red for a couple days which scared me at the time but it quit about 14 DPO and now I am 8 weeks. I think it's one of those things that is different for everyone.

For what it's worth, I was able to get a very faint line on a Equaline test (a generic to first response) during the 4th day of brown spotting.  The kind of faint line where you think your mind is playing tricks on you. Not sure if you are a POAS addict like me.

I had this happen last year  in August,except it started around OV time, it was brownish black and continued the 2 weeks until I finally got AF. September it didn't happen, just AF, then October it happened again, except it only lasted a week. And since then it hasn't happened again. On another board I post on someone told me it sounded like a miscarriage, or leftovers from a miscarriage which didn't make since because I wasn't even ttc when it first happened, and AF was regular. I'm still stumped on what it was. Hopefully you'll get some answers though.

Well, I don't know what it was.  I got my period on time.  I did have a checmical pregnancy right before the brown cm.  The cramps were different for that cycle.  Anyway, I am starting over at CD6!
