Hi, I apologize for posting a thread to introduce myself, I didn't know what ddc stood for and don't have my own computer so I don't have time to read every thread. I'm posting at work.(nanny, the kids are busy playing)

* Names you like (& are willing to share): Just found out yesterday so we haven't really looked into it. I like Evan and Kellan for boys though.

* Birth plans/preferences: Waiting to hear back from the midwife. I had your typical every intervention possible birth with my son and I do NOT want to have a hospital birth.

* Anything else you'd like to share: We are planning to cd this baby, in fact I already started sewing diapers last November lol. This will be the first time we cd, bf, babywear, ect. I also tend to lurk, I am trying to get over that and actually post things.

Hi, I'm Rachel. My last period began Jan 31, which puts my due date in early November, I believe. I am 25, will be 26 when the baby's born. I am in the Kansas City, MO metro. I got a + almost a week ago, but so far only my boyfriend, roommate, and massage therapy classmates and instructors know. I'm telling my son and family on Sunday (Mom's bday party). My bf and I were not officially "trying" but I knew I wanted to get pregnant and was doing what I could (namely avoiding any contraception, etc.). I have wanted to get pregnant for almost 6 years now, but my bf and I have been together and "not trying" for only a couple months. I have 1 6yo and live with him and my roommate. I would like to postpone picking out names for as long as possible, and make an official decision after the birth. With ds, I birthed in a hopital tethered to machines with the uncomfortable straps around my belly, and pretty much labored on my back in bed. I got pitocin to get contractions going since my water broke, and ended up pushing for 3 hrs, got a 3rd deg. laceration, and required a blood transfusion. This time I hope for a home/water/natural birth. I have no idea how to do this, so wish me luck!

I would really like to cd as well. I don't have a washer and dryer right now, but we will move to a bigger place this summer anyway, so hopefully that will all work out.

* Names you like (& are willing to share): No clue!  We didn't name our last until several days after he was born!
* Birth plans/preferences: I had our first at home but there were complications, so husband is really set on hospital.  I've looked around for some midwives who deliver in a good hospital nearby, so I'll be interviewing them when I go for first appointments.  I'm such a homebirth girl and not at all mainstream, so it may be hard.
