Thanks

* EDD- Nov 5. Ds2 was born at 40w1d, so I think the 1st week of Nov is very likely.

* Name- My real name is Becky, but Deva is fine.

* Age - 30
* How long it took to you to get your BFP- this baby was definitely a surprise! We were tta, using withdrawal. It was the first time since af started after ds2 that we didn't abstain when I was fertile. This baby was the result of the only drop of sperm that hit my uterus near o time. lol
* What number child is this for you - 3rd.

* Family - Teague and I broke up before we found out I was pg. We're still living together so I can SAH. We're getting along much better now, and I suppose you could say we recently started casually dating each other  headscratch.gif Yeah, I don't get it either. Oh well, it's working for now. We have 2 sons: 6yo Keagan and 20mo Jonah
* Baby's gender (hopes or guesses) - Teague at first really really wanted a girl, now he says he's fine either way. It's a wash for me.
* Names you like (& are willing to share) - I love Azalea and Elise. I like Dylan for a boy, but worry that it's too matchy with Keagan.
* Birth plans/preferences - the midwife team I had last time! Yay! Likely at a hospital, because ds1's birth I almost died (probably because of medical interventions, but I don't know for sure, and I definitely am not worried about unnecessary interventions from my mw's!)
* Anything else you'd like to share: This baby was unplanned but definitely not unwanted!!! The timing seems crazy- almost like a sign, if I believed in those. Teague is having trouble coming to terms with it, in terms of money and time. It's too bad that men don't get these wonderful "I already love the baby" pregnancy hormones. lol.

It's really nice to have a pregnancy where I'm not scared of the birth! I'm confident that I can cope with an unmedicated birth, so that's good (though I'm not opposed to nitrous if the opportunity presents itself)!

Ds1's birth was traumatic- my water broke before labor, they scared me into getting induced, I had an epi before labor even started (his hr went way down, so they wanted to prepare for an emergency CS). So labor didn't hurt, I didn't feel the birth much, but I was hemmorhaging afterwards, and they did manual removal of placenta. OMG it was the worst pain I've ever experienced in my entire life. And the epi hadn't totally worn off, and they gave me more drugs on top of it. I'm STILL traumatized by his birth, if I think about it too much.

Ds2- went into labor, started to freak out because of the pain after a couple hours of labor, because I figured if it hurts this bad NOW, it's going to get even worse as I get further along! Little did I know, I WAS "further along." By the time we got to the hospital, I was 9.5cm dilated and she said I could push whenever I felt like it. I forgot to ask for drugs at that point. I was in labor about 5 hours total, from the first "yep, this is a contraction" to when he was born. It wasn't a few months later, and I told dp "You know, J being born didn't hurt *that* bad." He looked at me like I was insane. lol. But the beauty of an unmedicated birth is that you forget the pain really quickly. lol.

* EDD: Nov 12...I know the date of conception

* Name: Sothisislove

* Age at conception / Age at delivery:  27
* Location: Middle of US
* How long it took to you to get your BFP:  I'd just started my period after baby #2 and had had 2 cyles....I thought I just went back to no cycling b/c Bethany had been sick and started nursing a lot more. LOL...nope.  Preggo!
* What number child is this for you:  3rd baby....5th pregnancy.  I had a m/c before Andrew (almost 4yo) and before Bethany (16 mo)
* Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): Mike is my husband.  What's a turbaby?
* Baby's gender (hopes or guesses):  IDK....twins run in the family.  That'd be fun, but a financial mess for us!  :D  Bring it on, I say!  :D
* Names you like (& are willing to share):  Timothy Edward....IDK for a girl.  So with Bethany, we didn't know gender and I had my girl name picked out, but not a boy.  So maybe this time it'll be a boy, b/c we're set on our boy name but I'm only feeling so/so about 'Savannah'.
* Birth plans/preferences:  Andrew was an epidural hospital birth.  Bethany was a home water birth...I'll never (voluntarily) go back to a hospital to give birth.  There just is no comparison.  LOOOVED my homebirth.
* Blog, website or the like:  I'm looking for a good site to start a journal.  Any suggestions?
* Anything else you'd like to share:  I'm so excited to be back in a DDC.  I loved being a part of Dec 09!  Can't wait to get to know you ladies!  :D

* Baby's gender (hopes or guesses): No guesses or preferences

Welcome to all the newest mamas!

post #96 of 182

I'm posting here a little skittishly!

I'm Katherine and this will be #3

EDD  Nov. 20th

Our DSs are 2 and 4 and will be 3 and 5 when this one is born.  I'll be 37 and DH will be 43.

This was a huge surprise.  I was pregnant last month with a surprise (from BC failure) and lost it very early.  Apparently DH's sperm are extra-long-lived and determined to impregnate me since I was still bleeding from the m/c when last we did anything that could have led to pregnancy.  But 3 positives on 3 different days have led me to believe I really am pregnant.  I always wanted more kids, but our first two have been pretty challenging and we weren't sure our marriage would make it through the absolute exhaustion brought by a third child.  So here's hoping for being as prepared as possible!  I'm really excited and terrified all at the same time!

This one will more than likely be a third c/s.  Last was an attempted HBAC and due to a number of physiological reasons, I am grateful for c/s to allow me and my children to survive labor.

I am looking forward to getting to know you all!

Hi all - lisa here, from Baltimore but originally Texas. This will be baby # 3 (fingers crossed) will be 39 at delivery. Due date 11/21/11. No names yet - am torn whether I want a third girl (dds are 5 and 2) or try my hand at a little boy for a change!!

Nice to meet y'all and congrats!!
post #98 of 182

EDD: December 2nd (But DS came 10 days early and Surrobabe (my 2nd pregnancy) came 3 weeks early, so I'm betting this little one is coming in November)
Name: Amy
Age at conception / Age at delivery: 30/30
Location: Portland, OR
How long it took to you to get your BFP: Hours!  Lol.  I was waiting for DH to be ready and I joked one night that I should have already ovulated and my body must be hoping he'll change his mind this cycle.  He did, I O'd a few days after that, and I got a BFP this morning, 11 days later!
What number child is this for you: 2 (my third pregnancy, I was a gestational surrogate)
Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): DH, DS (5), me, and our kitty.
Baby's gender (hopes or guesses): I've been feeling my spirit baby since the day DH decided he was ready to TTC (before I knew) and she's giving off a very feminine vibe, but that doesn't necessarily mean it will be a girl.  I would like a girl, but obviously I would be just as in love with another little boy.  It will be a surprise. :)
Names you like (& are willing to share): We won't name the baby until after it's born.  DH and I have some that we like, but we keep them to ourselves.
Birth plans/preferences: DS was an unassisted home birth.  Surrobabe was a VERY precipitous hospital birth.  I was all set to have a home birth for any future babies with a very hands-off MW, but then I found Andaluz Waterbirth Center.  They are 5 minutes away from my house, they have gigantic tubs, they order you in restaurant food, and you get a free massage on your 2nd day PP before you leave.  I'm very tempted.

Anything else you'd like to share:

DH and I shared with our parents our plans to have another baby, and they were less than thrilled.  I'm not sure why, as we have 1 5-year-old, steady jobs working from home, and we're financially stable for probably the first time in our lives.  What better time to have a baby?  They seem to be worried that it will cause us too much stress.  DS has high-functioning Autism and the last few years have been hard.  But we assured them that things are a lot better now and DS is doing great.  Also, my brother's wife had a tubal reversal a year ago and they've been trying for a baby together (she has 2 daughters from a previous marriage) without any luck, including 3 early miscarriages (that I know of).  My other sister-in-law tends to find any excuse to hate me, and I'm afraid that will flare back up now (I know she has wanted another for awhile, but they haven't had one yet for whatever reason).  I guess I'm worried that no one will be happy about this baby but us, and it's making me a bit nervous and sad.  I don't want to be sad today!

ETA:  DS's due date was December 5th and he was born on November 24th!  These siblings will have very close birthdays. :)

post #99 of 182

So, I had my first u/s yesterday...and instead of being 8 weeks along, I'm 12 weeks! So, my EDD is not Oct 2nd!!  I'll be heading on over to the October board now.twins.gif

Peace out and health pregnancies to all!

EDD: 11/11/11!
* Name: Michelle
* Age at conception / Age at delivery:  30/31
* Location: Northern California
* How long it took to you to get your BFP: n/a
* What number child is this for you: #2
* Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): DH, DS 19 months, 2 5yo dogs
* Baby's gender (hopes or guesses):  Happy either way, not sure we're going to find out (we didn't with DS)
* Names you like (& are willing to share):  need to start thinking about this!
* Birth plans/preferences: still figuring this out.  We had a great, natural hospital birth with DS, but might try homebirth this time.  It's financially complicated since we have insurance... going the hospital route is ironically much more affordable, but we are going to see what we can do.
* Anything else you'd like to share:  Baby #2 is a total surprise, though a very happy one.  We were going to wait until the end of summer to TTC, but nature has other plans!  I totally lurked all over these forums when expecting DS and when he was a newborn, figured I'd go ahead and join this time!  DS is still nursing and cosleeping so I'm a little nervous about how he will adjust, but we've got time at this point : )  We love cloth diapering and babywearing too!
