Mother Earth News sells subscribers' names

I was really shocked to get junk mail today for some cheap tiller.  The address was just as it appears on my MEN sub.  So I called and was told that Mother Earth News sells subscribers' names to affiiates.  I was REALLY surprised (naive??) since they claim to be a "green" magazine. 

For my other mainstream mags, I provide my PO box to cut down on junk in my mailbox.  But I thought MEN was more grassroots.

I cancelled the subscription.  I can get much more detailed useful info on the internet anyway.

FWIW, this is not a new policy.  They did the same thing when I had a subscription 5+ years ago.
