Anyone else in the running for world's wiggliest baby?

My son is 7 months old, and multiple people have commented that they've never seen a baby as wiggly as he is. He just can't sit still at all, and has been that way since he "woke up" from the birth and jaundice.

If he's nursing and not almost asleep, at least one arm and one leg are moving around. Sitting on your lap? Whole body wiggles and nearly pops off. (He managed to wiggle himself off the bed at a few weeks old, right on to a pillow, no worse for wear, but still.)  In the bath? Kickkickkickkickkick and at least one hand splashing, from the time I put him in to the time I take him out. We co-sleep, and unless he's very deeply asleep, he's wiggly, then, too.

My husband wondered if something was wrong, but it doesn't seem like it--he's not twitching or having spasms, and he's got good fine motor skills (pincer grip, rips the glasses off my face with accuracy and intent, and can convey a spoon with food on it to his mouth, though he can't yet scoop the food). He doesn't seem to be in any pain--he wiggles whether he's gassy, laughing, whatever. His gross-motor skills are a little more behind (he can roll, but doesn't seem to want to; he's still wobbly when sitting for more than a minute or two, but he can crawl--backwards--as of last night). He's a BIG baby, top-heavy, which probably accounts for some of the wobbliness (nearly off the charts for head but so's his dad, 95th% for length, 75th for weight).

So, yeah, wiggly baby.

How are your wiggly babies? Did they turn out to be energetic toddlers, or did they settle down?

Me!!  Well, DS1 was really the biggest wiggle worm ever, and he's still that way at 5!!  He just can't hold still at all, even when sleeping, he moves about the bed and changes position a million times (we  part-time bed-share).  DS2 is also wiggly, but not as much as DS1 was, though hard to believe.  There is nothing wrong with a wiggly child, as long as you can keep them safe.  DS1 walked at 9 months (I mean across the floor without holding on), was climbing the steps up and down at 1 year, and is still way more athletic than a lot of his peers.  He has some trouble focusing his attention, but I think he's just smart and needs a lot of stimulation (I'm not biased, lol).  It just takes a lot more patience and understanding from parents, I think.  Welcome to the wiggle-worm club!!!

:)
