I'm just about 4 wks post partum and I'm pretty sure I have one of these. I had a homebirth, but transferred due to a retained placenta. I also had a couple tears that were repaired at the hospital. 2 wks pp I went to see the OB who fixed me up at the hospital in her private practice because I was having some pain and irritation. When I saw her she said I had a small hematoma on my left outer labia, but it wasn't bothering me at all, the other side was what was really painful and irritated. I was more active than usual that week and the area of the hematoma started bothering me. I felt around for the first time and could feel the mass and it surprised me; about 1.5" by .75". So I called the OB to see if it had grown and she wanted to see me this week. When I saw her, she said it seemed slightly smaller and she was leaning towards it being a Bartholin cyst as opposed to a hematoma.
I'm going to go with the cyst, though I'm not sure which is worse. So assuming it is a cyst, what can I do naturally, to get rid of it? Sitz baths are tricky for me because I have some varicosies and mystery stuff that makes sitting on any toilet shaped thing uncomfortable after a minute or two. I started taking silica 30c and made a paste of green clay, witch hazel bark powder, lavender and tea tree oils and some commercial witch hazel extract which I've had on the area for about 8 hours.
The pain isn't horrible, more pressure and burning than anything with the occassional sharp pain in that area. I would like to avoid surgery and would eventually like to have sex with my partner again so I'll pretty much try anything natural at this point to get it to drain on its own. Any insight would be appreciated.
