Does anyone have the Cuisinart Elite 16 cup food processor?

If you have one I'm wondering how you like it? My kitchenaid FP stripped the base pole so I'm considering getting the new Cuisinart Elite 16 cup.

What Kitchenaid model did you have?

Please update how you like your Cuisinart model.

I am trying to decide whether or not to get a new workbowl and blade for my kitchenaid fp or just get a new cuisinart. I don't have much faith in the newer kitchenaid models.

I had the KA KFPW760OB the 12 cup with the 3 bowls.

I'll come back and post my review of the 16 cup cuisinart once I use it. So far all I've done is take it out of the box. I will say this though, I love that the slicing blade is adjustable from 1mm to 6mm and it's super easy to do so ( just turn a marked dial on the blade) there is much more versatility for slicing. And I like that lid lifts off without turning. Plus it's 1000 watts, my KA one was only 700. Have you watched the video on the Williams Sonoma website on it? They made a bunch of changes, like that the blades lock so no danger of them falling out when you pour out the bowl and there is now a pouring spout.

ok so I used it today. With the smallest bowl (4 1/2 cup) to puree some onion, garlic and fresh ginger and then later to puree some canned diced tomatoes for chana masala it worked great, no liquid leaks and everything was uniform. I used the 13 cup bowl to make hummus ( I started with dried beans I'd soaked and cooked) which came out with a very nice emulsified texture.  Love the pour spout and that the blade is locked in for pouring convenience.

I haven't used the slicing or shedding blades yet, but I want to make a carrot cake so maybe I'll get around to it tomorrow. I'm excited to try the dough feature also, since I use my food processor much more often for making yeast dough than my stand mixer.

Please continue adding info!  I'm getting a lot of good info from you about "blending" :)

I used the dough feature today for making chapati's. Although this isn't a yeast dough and it was only 2 cups of whole wheat flour since I just made enough for dinner. It worked great, I like the new metal dough blade much more than than the old plastic one.

So, for someone who uses a food processor at least once-a-day, you would definitely recommend this one?  My older FP is about to kick the bucket.  I can't believe I am still using it with a crack down the side!  I tend to be rough on my FP's, because I am K-L-U-T-Z-Y.  Oh, and both the counter tops and the floor are tiled in my kitchen.  I wish more things 'bounced'. eyesroll.gif

You have a crack in the bowl or in the base housing? You can get new bowls online but ya I crack in the base housing sounds dangerous if you spilled anything and leaked inside. I do love this one, they have really improved them.
