I found Mothering Magazine in the library here in Colorado and was so pleased to see a magazine that validates the things that are important to me as a mother.
Â
Started reading library issues in the months before my baby was born and prepared for a natural birth.
Worked hard through hours of back labor with husband coaching me, until the hospital doctor told us to break water and start pitocin or wait until I needed a c-section. :( Now we are already discussing using a birth center next time and being better prepared for unexpected situations.

We are crazy for our little boy. He nursed moments after being born and still is a champ. I work full time as a teacher and pump for him during the days. He often has frothy/bloody stool, though, so I asked a question about that in the breastfeeding forum.

Mothering gives me confidence to speak up for our decisions to selectively vaccinate, not circumsize, bedshare, baby-wear, and never give formula. My husband stays at home with our baby and wears him all day. They have such a sweet bond. It makes me jealous when I have to leave and teach school. My eyes are open for a way to work from home or work fewer hours next year. He'll only be small for such a short time!

Anyway, nice to meet you all!
