Ok so I got a laugh out of this, mostly that the thought of people horrified at the idea of eating breastmilk ice cream..

I don't know if I'd eat someone else's boob milk ice cream, but if I was feeling adventurous I'd make my own and have DH try it...I'm sure DD would love it considering she loves anything related to mama's nummas!

This was out about a year ago too- when one of DH's friends heard about it he was amazed and said "the next thing they will come out with is a milk machine for women".  DH stared at him in amazment and told him that I have 2.  It was pretty funny.

Last night another friend of DH told him about it- which of course we had already heard about- and his friend was amazed at the cost- when I told him what the going rate for breastmilk was he about fell over!

They already shut it down! I saw on some channel or read somewhere online that apparently 2 people had complained that it was dangerous. They actually came and took it away and said it was not properly tested or something like that. Not surprised at all.

i wouldn't try it in a million years.. my thought is, if you have extra milk you give it to a baby or sick person in need.

I just read an article today that the "ice-cream" was pulled from the store.  They won't let them sell it since it's a human product.

I agree with this! Not in a million years would I eat it! Sorry. As pro-breastfeeding as I am and as much as I love BFing my own kids, that is just gross. And like the PP said, if there is that much extra milk, exactly, donate it so it can be pasteurized and made safe, and can be used for sick babies etc.

you wouldn't try it in a million years but you think a sick adult would willingly ingest human breast milk? Lets forget that people aren't grossed out by treating cow breast milk. Most adults I know can barely understand why a baby is breastfeeding let alone giving it to a sick adult (I think that is a great idea actually)...I could see people having riots over that!
