Brushing her teeth

DD is almost a year old, and she has 2 teeth and 2 nubs coming in. Ive brushed them maybe 4 times. Do I need to brush them every day or after every meal?

I brush my son's teeth every single day. He actually likes it! He is 11 months old and has 4 teeth so far. When he was really little he would watch me brush my teeth and reach for the brush.  I got him his own toothbrush and sometimes I let him just chew on it, so to him it is fun. But every day- usually after meals so twice a day at least- I put a tiny bit of toothpaste on it and water and actually brush them. We do juice water a fair amount, plus he eats fruit which is sugary- and I have heard so many stories about babies with cavities that I figured I would do what I can to help keep the sugar from settling on his teeth and potentially forming cavities. I am glad that he doesn't seem to mind the toothpaste taste or the brushing- and then sometimes he likes to chew on the brush too.

Thanks!

I bought her some Burts Bees Orange toothpaste for kids, so she LOVES to taste it.

I try to remember to brush every day. I really have to get better about it! I use a regular baby toothbrush, though, not the fingertip one, cause my girl bites when it goes in her mouth!

I brush my 10 month old's 4 teeth morning and night most days. Some days I forget, but I'm trying to get in the habit. He likes it too. We just use water and a soft brush, then wipe down all his gums with a washcloth over my finger. A public health nurse gave me that advice - she said it would get him used to having more than just his front teeth brushes. I hope she's right!
